OUR FOUNDER
Meet Emily Hayes
Emily completed a Bachelor of Speech Pathology at Flinders University and spent more than 20 years working as a speech pathologist which included time in the special care nursery at one of Adelaide’s leading hospitals.
Using evidence-based practice and plenty of experience, Emily is renowned in the Speech Pathology industry for her ability to motivate families in their journey of making mealtimes more enjoyable.
She adopts practical methods to support children and empower their families to overcome eating barriers, and has undertaken additional training in paediatric feeding and orofacial myology.
It was through a challenging journey with her four children, who had complex medical and dietary needs, which led to the formation of Hayes Speech Pathology with a focus on paediatric feeding therapy.
She’s experienced the tears, tantrums and heartache, personally and professionally, working with children who may have physical, behavioural, sensory, medical, social or emotional difficulties with food and mealtimes.
Emily approaches each case individually and strives to work closely with each family along the journey. She is no stranger to dealing with specialist appointments and children with developmental delays and serious medical conditions.
